Patlite RLP Series Heavy Duty Indoor/Outdoor 162mm Rotating LED Warning Light Beacon

The Patlite RLR has many advantages compared to a rotating beacon with incandescent bulb and standard motor. The LEDs last approximately 20 to 40 times longer than an incandescent bulb.

The combination of the brushless motor and bearing mechanism allows the Patlite RLR to operate from 8,000 hrs to 10,000 hrs, compared to 5,000 hrs for other rotating beacons.   Superior engineering and design provide the ultimate heavy duty rotating beacon.  Ideal applications include forklifts, material handling equipment, cranes, hoist systems, large plant wide material handling conveying systems, outdoor electrical enclosures in sunlight and a great variety of applications.

Resetting a SM series AC TECH DRIVE after power failures.

If you have an SM series drive by AC TECH and have not had a plant power failure, it could be just a matter of time due to high electrical grid burdons or fortunate that severe storms have not struck your area.  But recently we had an existing customer experience this particular issue and they were now in a down situation and needed to get back up and running fast.  Unforturnately, a step by step procedure is not published, but the informantion is in the manual, just not in the best organized fashion.  Here is a quick reference guide for when this occures.

Per the Technicians at AC TECH:

“A manual reset is down by setting parameter P48(program) to a value “04” (reset 60hz).

To access the parameters hit mode, if prompted for a password the default password is “225”, then hit mode again and it will display P01 scroll up to P48, hit mode, scroll to a value of “04” and hit mode again to accept the new setting, the drive will then be successfully reset.

Keep in mind that any parameters that have been changed from their default settings will be reset and will need to be re-programmed so it may be helpful to record parameter settings prior to preforming a drive reset. Also, if it is an OEM unit set P48 to “03” (reset to OEM settings)".

We at Marshall Wolf Automation are happy to provide this valuable information and would like to thank the factory technicians at AC TECH LENZE for their partnership and well organized operation and are proud to provide their products to the market.  Marshall Wolf Automation is a leader in the supply of AC FREQUENCY DRIVES and if you have an application, please visit us on the web at www.wolfautomation.com or contact us at sales@wolfautomation.com or if desiring to speak to any of our sales department for pricing and availability, please don't hesitate to contact us at 847-658-8130.

How old is my AC Tech drive? Unlocking the serial number secrets!

Sometimes we receive calls with older AC Tech variable frequency drives that might be replaced, but the end user has no idea of the age of the unit.

This could occur for a variety of reasons; they didn't purchase it, it came installed on an OEM piece of equiment or was existing in the factory.  As a distributor, we don't always have access to all of the manufacturers internal documentation, but here we can now break down the important parts of the serial number to identify the month and year of manufacture.  It's very helpful, especially when trying to figure out if a drive is still under warranty.

So let's look at the following example:

The following is from an AC Tech unit serial plate:  R14880903   What do we need to glean from this number?  We only care to look at the last four (4) digits, in this case (0903)

The first two digits (09) signify the year of manufacture ( 2009 ), the last two digits ( 03 ) signify the week of 2009 that it was manufactured, i.e. the 3rd week of 2009. In this case, the drive was manufactured the 3rd week (January) of 2009.

This coding applies to all AC Tech Drives, if you have a need for a Lenze AC Tech replacement or new application, please don't hesitate to contact us.  We can help size your application after some technical query.

AC TECH LENZE -SMV series drives have new sequencing parameters!

The AC Tech Lenze's SMV frequency drive is one of our most popular VFD's in the 60 HP and under market.

The drive is extremely popular, due to a wide variety of input power (voltage/phase) from 120V single phase to 600V 3 phase configurations.  The drive also comes in a variety of enclosure specifications from NEMA 1 to NEMA 4x indoor and outdoor rated models and even with an integral disconnect switch if desired.

One of the strongest features of the series is the ease of programming, extremely simple compared to most other competitors models.  The market now has even more capability with this versatile series.  What am I trying to say?  New and improved, well... not new, but with great improvements.

Sequence Parameters:  What does this mean?

Well, the NEW parameters P700; provides function consisting of 16 step segments, each individual step can have its own RAMP TIME, TIME SPENT IN INDIVIDUAL SEGMENT, and OUTPUT FREQUENCY.  The sequencer has three different modes to control how the drive moves through each individual step segment, IE: Timer transition, Step Sequence or Timer and Step Sequence.  Sections 4.5.9 through 4.5.9.3 of the Operating Manual explains the function and programming.

You can find the manual on our website at www.wolfautomation.com.   Next question is, what do I need this for? You can use it to do timing functions, time out blowers, pumps, cycle equipment; kind of like integrating a mini PLC or smart relay right into the drive.

When thinking about your next drive, think about AC TECH LENZE'S SMV series of VFD's, if this drive fits your horsepower requirements, consider this drive it's a winning combination that is hard to beat.  Wolf Automation is your Industrial Automation Distributor for VFD's -  7 different brands to meet your VFD needs.  Contact us today, we can help, call us at 847-658-8130 or email us at sales@wolfautomation.com
