Recently one of our customers,
ImTech Technologies, LLC, made a switch from using red and green lights to blue and green on one of the industrial light towers they buy from us.
The reason is NFPA 79 (Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery). This standard says that the colors on industrial warning lights should be used as follows:
- RED shall be used to indicate Danger - an emergency condition (i.e. an e-estop).
- YELLOW should be used for Warning/Caution and an Abnormal condition.
- GREEN shall be used for Safe and Normal conditions.
- BLUE shall be used when mandatory action is required.
I found this interesting since usually blue is just used as the fourth color, this was the first time I had a request to replace the red with the blue.

Patlite AR-078 is a 60mm explosion proof light tower with sealed cable. This series is actually the Patlite LME series industrial light tower with Zone 2 ATEX approvals.
Patlite currently stocks the 24V AC/DC models but we do have the 90-250VAC versions available to order.
