Inclination Sensors

Inclination sensors provide angle feedback for motion control or detect critical tilt position limits. Applications include real-time inclination monitoring in a dip-coating system for car bodies, or tilt-angle monitoring on mobile equipment.

The new generation of F99 inclination sensors from Pepperl+Fuchs are easily configured to provide incline or tilt angles between 0° … 360° on a standardized 4 mA … 20 mA or 0 V ... 5 V analog interface. Switch outputs are also provided in order to monitor limit angles.

Inclination sensor models with CANopen interface are available for integration into commercial vehicle applications. Parameterization of the inclination sensor is performed via CANopen or with teach-in buttons, depending on the sensor type.

F99 Inclination Sensor Highlights

Low Profile Capacitive Sensor

Baumer Electric Sensors offer a new low-profile capacitive sensor that reliably detects objects in confined spaces such as low rise conveyors, automated handling equipment or industrial machinery. Designed with a very flat housing and versatile mounting frame, the CFDK 25 Capacitive Sensor requires much less space than photoelectric or ultrasonic sensors and can be countersunk flush for easy integration into machines and facilities.

Measuring just 6 mm high, this capacative proximity sensor can be directly attached to a work surface or set into an innovative mounting frame that allows easy, snap-in-place installation and removal. The frame can be installed with screws, cable ties, Velcro fasteners or glue, and allows the sensor to be easily removed and re-installed into another mounting frame with no tools required.

Five fixed sensing distances from 2 to 15 mm supersede a potentiometer and turn the CFDK 25 into a plug-and-play solution. To guarantee chemical resistance and extended life under demanding conditions, the housing of the CFDK 25 Capacitive Sensor is made of the robust plastic Polyamid 12.

The sensor is ideal for detecting wafers and PCBs on electronic production lines, for liquid level detection in laboratory processing, and for object detection in printing and packaging machines.
We offer all types of sensors, from inclination sensors to miniature photoelectric sensors.

Whether it's compact diffuse, wash-down, liquid level or leakage, hygenic or distance-measuring Baumer can offer a sensor to meet your needs and Marshall Wolf Automation can provide it at a price that makes sense.  Contact us today!

Inclination Sensor and Box Dumper Application

I had an application recently where the end-user started discussing his need for a sensor to mount on his food grade, electrically driven box dumper so that he could receive continuous feedback as the dumpers angle of incline would change.

He needs this to control the rate of incline to control the flow of his product as the product tended to behave in certain ways as the angle would change.  The intent was to tie this sensors output into his PID feedback loop to control his high performance AC frequency drive.

This is a far cry from the days of 2 position type proximity or magnetic reed switches!  The other necessary feature he needed was high pressure wash-down used in food production environment (this unit has an IP69K rating).

The solution? The F99 Inclination Sensor from Pepperl + Fuchs.

Here are the features of the new generation of F99 inclination sensors from Pepperl+Fuchs; easily configured to provide incline or tilt angles between 0° … 360° on a standardized 4 mA … 20 mA or 0 V ... 5 V analog interface, switch outputs are also provided in order to monitor limit angles, sensor models with CANopen interface are available for integration into commercial vehicle technology and parameterization can be performed either via CANopen or using teach-in buttons.

The Pepperl+Fuchs F99 inclination sensors and their CANopen interface reduce wiring requirements in machinery and equipment and are particularly suitable for use in commercial vehicles.

Inclination or Acceleration?

Whether the task is to monitor the inclination angle of a machine component or the acceleration values of system structures or components, Pepperl and Fuchs offers a solution for both needs.

Pepper Fuchs Pile Driver

Marshall Wolf Automation is pleased to announce that Pepperl+Fuchs X-Series Pile Driver™ Extended Range Inductive Sensors are now available in 8mm diameter models. With barrel lengths as short as 35mm, these miniature sensors deliver a 3mm sensing range – 50 percent more range than is available from larger competitive 12mm diameter models. As a result, 8mm diameter extended range Pile Driver sensors eliminate the need to sacrifice sensing range or durability. Like all Pile Driver sensors, its robust, single-piece machined barrel is fully embeddable in steel making it an ideal sensing solution for the toughest metalforming and welding applications.

X-Series Pepperl + Fuchs Sensor

X-Series Pile Driver’s extended sensing field is a big benefit in automotive manufacturing applications, as it enables reliable detection of irregularly shaped contours, and increased sensor-to-target distances help eliminate contact-related scuffing of “Class A” hood, door and trunk surfaces. Weld-immune models are uniquely capable of providing long range part detection with full immunity to both AC and DC weld fields, and repelling weld splatter.

Whether it's inclination sensors or intrinsically safe barriers, we are your factory-authorized industrial automation distributor!
