Self-Switching & Regulating AC/DC Power Photo Sensors

Tuesday, July 13, 2010 by Beckie Bordenaro
One of our popular photoelectric systems is the NA - series from Takex.

takex na photoelectric sensorThe NA series of photoelectric light systems are AC/DC power photo sensors that are mostly self-switching between AC and DC and self-regulating from 24VDC to 240VAC!

AC power allows for a wide range of applications such as car washes, exposed vehicle detection systems and conveyor detection in unusual environments.

This group of photoelectric sensors comprises the most process flexible of all groups.

Electronic Key System (EKS)

Friday, May 14, 2010 by Caryl Clement
The EUCHNER Electronic Key System (EKS) allows only authorized personnel to access machine controls and process parameters. The uniquely coded inductive key tags, can provide various levels of authorization. For example, different levels of access can be established for programming, maintenance, operation, etc. The EKS makes passwords obsolete.

The tag reader is compact, measuring only 1 ½" x 3". Unlike magnetic coded swipe card, the EKS tag cannot be wiped out. If a tag is lost or stolen, you can block that tag instead of reprogramming the entire system.

The electronic key system provides protection against unauthorized access to operation and visualization systems. In typical applications the user has an access right at a specific level via the electronic-key.

Electronic keys are available for the electronic key system in different colors with identical functionality.

Whether you make car washing systems or food equipment supplies, this is a product that can save you time, energy and money!  We are an authorized Euchner distributor
with technical assistance on staff to help!

Application Story: Programmable Logic Relays, IDEC Smart Relays

Tuesday, April 27, 2010 by Beckie Bordenaro
I recently followed up with a customer that has repeatedly purchased our IDEC SmartRelays, series FL1E.

His response was a perfect blog and he has allowed me to use it here (thanks Ed!).

We started using the IDEC FL1E relays for wash pen cycles for washing cows in a sprinkler pen. Now we are using them for timing flush valves for washing barn floors, timing heat pumps and water heaters for hot water systems, fill alarms for milk tanks, controlling manure separators, conveyors, and augers, split timing on pulsation systems, automating pipeline and milk tank wash systems, milk tank controls, and more.

We keep finding different uses for this smart relay. We now have about 15-20 different programs on file for this smart relay. Excellent product.

idec fl1e smart relayAs you can see the programmable logic relays (also called Smart Relays, PLR's and simple PLC's) have unlimited uses.

These units can be used for a number of functions including sensing, adjusting, converting, processing, actuating and communicating.

Marshall Wolf Automation is your IDEC distributor of SmartRelays as well as an authorized Crouzet distributor (Millenium brand).

Drives & Motors For Car Washing Systems

Friday, March 19, 2010 by Beckie Bordenaro
Variable frequency drives and industrial electric motors are key components for any car washing systems.

The drives can control the speed of the motors that operate and move the washing mechanism back and forth. The variable frequency drives also make sure the motors run during the specific times of each operation.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could buy them both from one vendor? I'll give you two guesses who might be able to do that...

Marshall Wolf Automation! We have all the top brands of high performance AC drives and industrial electric motors.

We are authorized industrial automation distributors for AC Tech Lenze, Hitachi, Delta, Fuji Electric and TECO-Westinghouse.

Engineers are always available to help you spec in the best variable frequency drive for your application. We have NEMA rated inverters, indoor/outdoor duty plus special features key to the car washing systems industry.

Do your customers get dizzy driving around and around looking for an open parking space?

Wednesday, March 17, 2010 by Amy Becker

If you are the owner/operator of a large, multi-level parking garage, you have probably heard complaints from customers in a hurry to get to an appointment or show. Spending unnecessary time looking for a parking spot can create added anxiety. Looking for that “one” open spot can be very frustrating and time consuming.

Carlo Gavazzi has a number of innovative products to solve these problems. The Dupline Carpark System is perfect for any size and type of indoor parking lot. Not only can this system lead drivers to the closest available spot, it can also keep you updated on exactly how many spots are open. By leading the driver to the closest available spot, driving times will be reduced, thus reducing exhaust gases and the need for added ventilation.

Visit our website at www.wolfautomation.com and check out all of our Carlo Gavazzi sensors. We are an Industrial Supply distributor and have products for your car washing systems, industrial warning lights and many other applications.

Application Contest Winners!

Thursday, November 19, 2009 by Beckie Bordenaro
Thank you for all of your great application stories!

We had a good time reading through them and learning about all of the innovative ways our industrial automation products are used.

Here are the four top entries!

* IDEC industrial DC power supplies used in a new invention of a gas water heater timer. Go to www.gaswaterheatertimer.com for more information!

* Our Altech 5 volt DC power supplies for 3-D computer-animated sculptures! One of the specific applications was a tactile 3-D animation to get blind kids interested in math. Learn more here -  Tactile Mathematics Research Group.

* Delta industrial DC power supplies to run linear actuators via a custom built solar tracking control! This is in the R&D stages for one of our customers but quite interesting. The application will mainly be used for solar electric water pumping.

* David from Intuit sent in a hilarious application describing an issue they were having with a test button on an ice cube relay! He solved the issue with our IDEC RH- series ice cube relays. Look for the blog on the full story coming soon!

We will be doing a separate blog on each of these applications in the next few days!

Thank you again to all of our customers that submitted their applications - everything from car washing systems, refrigeration equipment manufacturers, food equipment supplies and a lot of energy management solutions.
