What does a soft starter do?

soft startersSoft starters reduce torque by controlling the voltage delivered to the motor during startup.

Soft starters are designed to control the acceleration and deceleration of induction motors by controlling the voltage applied to the motor.

We have many customers wondering if they can use a soft starter in place of a variable frequency drive...  are you asking yourself that same question?

Contact our in-house engineers and they will be happy to let you know if a variable frequency drive or a soft starter would be the best fit for your application.
