The Pepperl + Fuchs PMI series of position measurement sensors are inductive based and can be used to detect the position of a metal target relative to the device sensing surface.

The linear position sensor models are available in measurement lengths from 14mm to 360mm and can be used for analog position feedback or for simple metal target detection along a linear axis.
The PMI360D-F130 angle measurement sensor, applies the inductive measurement technology to an angle measurement format. This inductive ring concept can be used to provide the same reliable and proven measurement technology for angular or rotational target position detection.
