We had a meeting with our Hitachi variable frequency drive reps this week and learned a bit more about the popular Hitachi WJ200 high performance AC drive line.A great feature the WJ200 Hitachi VFD offers is a built-in safe stop circuit feature. Basically what this means is if you are using an e-stop you can eliminate the contactor!
Another benefit of the safe stop circuit is you will only lose output to the estop, not the communication to the PLC.
