There has been some confusion as to how Ferraz Shawmut is now known as Mersen.

Ferraz Shawmut simply changed its name to Mersen. They felt the name change better reflected their history and direction for the future.

The bottom line is Ferraz Shawmut has not been purchased. They had a number of subsidiaries under different names and felt merging them all, including Ferraz Shawmut, into one name would help them all focus on a common goal.
