Welcome to my blog! My name is +Beckie Bordenaro and I have worked at Marshall Wolf Automation since 1994. I often joke that I started when I was 12.

I work in our Online Marketing & Sales department. My workday includes online search marketing, social media, inside sales, e-newsletters, updating our website and... blogs!

On a personal note, I have a beautiful family that includes my 11-year old son, Brayden, my 11-year old 'stepdaughter', Alyssa and our 4-year old daughter, Sadie.

I enjoy running, reading and, of course, spending time online!

I'm a big fan of the Patlite HSST-312-RYG for a number of reasons:

1. It's a kit that has everything you need! You will get the industrial light tower, cable, 120VAC power supply, switchbox, mounting bracket and mounting poles. Basically, everything you see in the picture!
2. We stock it. This always makes things easier.
3. Cost effective solution to an endless range of applications.

This is a popular work station light for call centers. I've had customers order 1 or a few dozen, depending on the size of their company. You can easily plug this light tower into the wall and attach to a standard cubicle wall. How much easier can it get?

Ever wonder what ODP, TE and DIP mean in relation to motors? Okay, I'm sure you have been kept up nights wondering... you can now rest easy, here is what they mean!

ODP= Open Drip Proof Motors

As it states, this is an open type of motor that limited size openings to prevent contact with moving or hazardous parts. Internal parts of ODP motors are protected from drop, splash and falling objects. Best used in a relatively clean environment.

TE= Totally Enclosed Motors

You guessed it - these type of motors are... enclosed! These type of motors can be used in dusty, dirty and humid environments because the inside of the motor is protected.

There are further choices here:

• TENV - totally enclosed non-ventilated
• TEFC - totally enclosed fan-cooled 
• TEBC- totally enclosed blower-cooled

DIP= Dust Ignition Proof Motors for Hazardous Locations

You would use this type of motor in flammable, dusty environments.

This type of industrial electric motor is suitable for operation in a Class II hazardous environment.

I started my search by checking out Wikipedia. I then looked up and read a number of things to come up with my very own simplified explanation. Disclaimer: I am in no way an engineer! This topic gets pretty deep, pretty fast. I'll do my best to keep it basic.

Vector control drives basically control 3-phase AC electric motor output by using two variables; voltage magnitude and frequency. We'll go just a little bit deeper to explain that vector control is available as field oriented control (FOC) or sensorless.

Most variable frequency drives used are Volts/Hertz, which means they provide open-loop operation. These drives are unable to retrieve feedback from the process, but can generally do the job for most applications. If these drives are not accurate enough then you want to take a look at vector control.

In general, if your application requires higher levels of accuracy, vector may be the way to go. These high performance AC drives can adjust themselves to sustain the programmed speed, rate, torque, and/or position.
