The compact, modular BCL300i barcode reader from Leuze offers a unique combination of cost effectiveness and functionality. This is because the modular concept enables the customer to define the high specification unit to optimally match their application!
For example in a material handling application, its compact design means it can be placed close beside a conveyor, while the choice of four optional heated optics (High, Medium, Low and Ultra-Low-Density) with a large depth of field and large range of reading angles, guarantee reliable detection especially in difficult environments like wide conveyors.
Marshall Wolf Automation can handle all your Leuze sensor needs, including safety laser scanners and the Line Range Laser Scanner for Presence Detection Leuze LRS Series . Call us today: 800-325-9653
Leuze sensors include the HRTR 25B light scanner which enables reliable detection of objects with glossy surfaces by means of its focused light spot. Exact edge detection and positioning are possible on glossy, perforated metallic surfaces as well as on rack bars and stands using this sensor. In the same series, the Leuze HRTR 25B XL scanner is ideal for positioning tasks using its large light spot. The larger light spot also makes this sensor ideally suited for the detection of containers which may not be completely closed. The devices are compact and facilitate exact switching behavior with reliable object detection due to the minimal black/white difference. Safety laser scanners are another product offered by Leuze and Marshall Wolf Automation.

Baumer Electric Sensors are among the best available. Now, the inductive outdoor sensors IFRR (proximity switches) and IWRR (distance -measuring sensors) by Baumer have passed the latest corrosion tests with flying colors. Both sensors meet the requirements of the highest corrosiveness category C5-M. Both sensors are therefore ideally suited to use in demanding ambient conditions at sea or on the coast, e.g. in wind power stations.
Digital inductive sensors are mainly used to detect the nacelle position and the rotor speed. Measuring sensors are applied for monitoring the brakes and the shaft deflection. To meet the requirements of the maximum corrosiveness category C5-M, the sensors were subjected to a 1440-hour or 60-day salt spray test in accordance with ISO 9227, followed by a 720-hour condensation-water resistance test in accordance with ISO 6270. The results show that these inductive sensors meet the highest corrosion resistance demands, and Baumer can guarantee a very long service life for its products. For all of your sensing needs, including photoelectric proximity sensors, call Marshall Wolf Automation today! 800-325-9653
These sensors are perfect for applications that require more signal strength than is available with background suppression sensors, and sense at either very close or long sensing distances.
They can be used when rigid reflectors or even reflective tape must be detected up to the sensor face, as a standard retro-reflective mode sensor would typically not see reflective tape unless it were two to four inches from the sensor.
They are also well suited for detecting objects such as solar cell wafers and packaged tubes or cartons where precise and repeatable leading edge detection is a must.

Power-supply manufacturer Carlo Gavazzi recently released a series of switching devices the company deems "economically friendly," the RMD Hybrid Relays. The product provides mercury-free switching, designed for controlling heating elements inside of food ovens, warmers, fryers, rotisseries and other food equipment. It's capable of switching up to 20 cycles per minute, with a 4 million electrical cycle life expectancy.
The RMD Series combines solid-state technology and electromechanical relays to provide a hybrid relay. This means that there is virtually no contact arcing, which results in prolonged relay life and much less emission inside of the panel. Another benefit of hybrid technology is a full amperage rating at elevated operational temperatures. While most conventional switching devices are rated at 25-40 degrees Celsius, the RMD Hybrid Relays are fully rated up to 60 degrees Celsius. The RMD3H switches heaters on three legs while the RMD2H is a lower-cost alternative, as it switches two poles and the third pole is directly connected between L2 and T2. Additional technical features include:
- Two- (for single and three phase circuits) and three-pole arrangements
- Rated for 4 million electrical cycles
- Rated for up to 20 cycles per minute
- Two output voltage ratings: 240VAC (VL-L) and 277VAC (VL-N – 480VAC with Neutral)
- Three common control voltages: 24VAC, 120VAC, 240VAC
- Two amperage ratings: 30A up to 70 degrees Celsius, 40A up to 60 degrees Celsius
- Similar mounting to Mercury Displacement Contactors
- Mercury-free, RoHS compliant, cRUus recognized

X-Series Pile Driver’s extended sensing field is a big benefit in automotive manufacturing applications, as it enables reliable detection of irregularly shaped contours, and increased sensor-to-target distances help eliminate contact-related scuffing of “Class A” hood, door and trunk surfaces. Weld-immune models are uniquely capable of providing long range part detection with full immunity to both AC and DC weld fields, and repelling weld splatter.

P+F is a great source for all types of ultrasonic sensors, including ultrasonic motion sensors and ultrasonic range sensors. Ultrasonic sensors present the ideal solution for non-contact position and distance measurement in all industrial areas where environmental conditions such as dust, smoke or steam may affect the sensors. Objects consisting of a variety of materials can be detected to within millimeters regardless of color or shape.
The ultrasonic sensor produces a data carrier utilizing very high frequencies that are outside the human’s audible range. The time it takes for that ultrasonic wave to pass between the sensor and the object is the value for the distance or the position. Ultrasonic sensors have proven their reliability and precision in many industries, including lumber and furniture, construction materials and equipment, farming equipment and in level control applications.
Pepperl+Fuchs’ ultrasonic sensors currently encompass twelve series of mechanical designs for through-beam, direct detection and retro-reflective operation. Customer and application specific custom solutions underscore our technological competence in this area of sensors. Some product features are:
- Devices with TEACH-IN functionality for fast and simple installation
- ULTRA 3000 software for improved adaptation of sensors to applications
- Adjustable sensitivity to the sound beam width for optimized adjustment of the sensor characteristics according to the application
- Temperature compensation - compensates for sound velocity due to varying air temperatures
- Synchronization input to prevent cross-talk interference when sensors are mounted within close proximity of eachother
- Sensors with digital and/ or analog outputs
Zener barriers from Pepperl + Fuchs provide cost saving Ex-protection for various applications in process automation systems. The amount of energy transferred to the hazardous location is limited to a safe level incapable of igniting the explosive atmosphere. Pepperl+Fuchs offers a wide product portfolio of housing and connection styles, which include DIN rail, termination board mounted, and accessories for each application.
Zener barriers have to be connected to an IS ground.
The IS grounding can be realized several ways:
- Isolated from the DIN- Rail
- Via an isolated DIN-Rail
- Via DIN-Rail
Field replaceable fuses provide a convenient means of disconnecting or open-circuiting the instrument loop without interfering with the wiring, making commissioning and maintenance operations much easier.
As one of the midwest's largest Pepperl + Fuchs' distributors, Marshall Wolf Automation can help you with all of your safety needs, including intrinsically safe barriers.
