Advantech has introduced a new range of devices that are specifically designed to be visible in bright sunlight. Three models, TPC-1251SR, TPC-1551SR and FPM-3151SR have been designed to work in harsh environments with temperature extremes rangng from -20° C to 60° C, and have been optically bonded with material that fills the gap between the glass cover and the LCD panel providiing a reflection rate of <0.2%.
To allow for outdoor reading, each of the devices is manufactured with a 1000 nit (cd/m2) display. With these features, Sunlight Readable is perfect for semi-outdoor and outdoor applications.

Monday, April 30, 2012It's easy to think each of our vendors only carry one line of product.
Actually, it's easy for you to think we only carry one product... the one you buy.
Delta Industrial Automation is a perfect example of a supplier that is much more than just variable frequency drives (or maybe you buy their AC to DC switching power supplies)?
Here is what you can find on www.WolfAutomation.com just for our vendor, Delta:
AC drives - a full offering of high performance AC drives
Communication modules - you might not even realize that we carry a full line of communication modules (we are also an Advantech distributor). Ethernet, DeviceNet, RS-485, we carry a full line of communication modules and converters.
Industrial operator interfaces (HMI's) - Delta has a great line of cost-effective industrial operator interfaces, their series DOP-B.

I figure since we’re taking the journey of ‘My Automation Education’, talking about traveling is not too
far off base. How does automation fit into our travel adventures? In more ways than you’d think. Just call me your automation Odysseus!
If you have been on the Euro Rail, a high-speed train in Asia, or even most modern commuter trains you have been surrounded by more automation than you may think. Automation is a key component of modern-day people movement – from walking sidewalks and escalators to train stations and freeway entrance controls.
Flipping throu
gh a brochure about Advantech industrial communication systems I saw many recognizable features from my commute. Driving around the western Chicago suburbs I am no further from the LED displays and automated toll booths of the I Pass tollways than I am from the wind turbine components and industrial switches with anti-electromagnetic-interface capability of North Central Illinois’ wind farms.
The automated ticket vendors and gate controls of the Chicago subway system are visible examples of the benefits of automation for commuters throughout the world. Even the “door closed” sensors on subway doors are automation. Automation is what allows cities like New York, Beijing, and London with massive populations to move commuters more efficiently and more cost effectively.
The new China High Speed Rail operators built a network of more than 308.1km of fiber optics along the wayside of 22 stations. The controllers in the network ensure non-stop operation. Advantech’s industrial Ethernet switches allow backup circuits to be established in just 10ms!
Automation is everywhere you travel, and Marshall Wolf Automation is everywhere your automation needs take you.
Another step on the path to Knowledgetown...keep following along on the journey to 'My Automation Education'!

The Industrial Automation Group of Advantech introduces two new Embedded Automation Computers, the UNO-3072A and UNO-3074A with Intel Atom D510 processor. Both models feature 2GB DDR2 RAM with an integrated RAID 0/1 controller for two 2.5” SATA HDD's and an external SATA port for additional storage. They are able to work in temperatures ranging from -10 ~ 60°C (14 to 140°F) and with shock/vibration absorbers for data storage security, they are ideal for many machine automation and warehouse tasks.
Friday, January 13, 2012It is a trend to move I/O to remote locations to reduce wiring costs. Remote I/O is becoming smarter and equipped with control functions as they move from today's 16 to 64 I/O multiplexers to the smallest remote I/O units, with perhaps as few as four I/O in the near future.
The ADAM-6000 series is designed to realize the concept of the smart I/O blocks. With built-in GCL logic function, this series is a revolutionary smart I/O module close to the sensor layer in automation.
The ADAM-6050-BE is a high-density I/O module built-in a 10/100 based-T interface for seamless Ethernet connectivity. It provides 12 digital input and 6 digital output channels with 2000VRMS Isolating protection.
